Step son of former President of the Republic of Malawi Peter Mutharika, Tadikira Mafubza who was arrested in connection to a mass grave which was discovered at Mtangatanga Forest Reserve in Mzimba late last year will appear before Mzuzu High Court on January 11, 2023 for bail hearing.

Mafubza who has been on remand at Maula Prison since his arrest on November 23 is facing murder and human trafficking charges, both allegedly connected to a mass grave which contained 30 bodies of people who are believed to be Ethiopian immigrants at Mtangatanga Forest Reserve in Mzimba.

The bail hearing comes a month after Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza committed the case to Mzuzu High Court.
