FCB Nyasa Big Bullets winless streak in TNM Super League has been extended to six matches following a 1-1 draw at home against Civil Sporting Club.
After a balanced first half that ended goalless, the People’s team struggled in the second half as Civil Sporting Club controlled every department.
The Servants took the lead on 54th minute through Blessings Malinda who tapped in from close range after receiving a beautiful pass from Muhammad Biason.
Three minutes later, the holders were allowed to come back through Enerst Petro’s equalizer.
Missing the services of starlets Patrick Mwaungulu and Lanjesi Nkhoma who left the country today to finalize their deals to TP Mazembe, Bullets endured a very difficult afternoon and the final whistle was a sigh of relief for them to earn undeserved draw.
“I’ve been rotating these players to prepare life without the so called star players but again, yes, it’s a home work also to some of the guys who are around to take the team to the next level” said Kalisto Pasuwa, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets head coach when commenting on how Mwaungulu and Nkhoma were missed against Civil.
The draw sees Bullets’ season continue to stutter as they climbed up to sixth. They have just won thrice, drew eight times and suffer a draw in 12 Super League matches this season.
However Pasuwa believes lack of experience is the reason for the teams poor form, he said; “remember we did revamp the team and as you can see now we don’t have the senior players that are supposed to stand this heat and raising these young Stars”.
After the final whistle, Pasuwa and his players knew exactly what the home crowd thought of their result as discontent was fired in their direction, turning them away when they tried to wave them.
Bullets remain 13 points behind leaders Silver Strikers who came from two nil down to force a draw at Kamuzu Barracks.
