Central region based lower league outfit Dzaleka Future Football Club are intent on showing FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve what they are capable of when the two teams meet at Champions Stadium in Dowa on Sunday, according to Team Manager Precious Munthali.
The clash between the Dowa based side and Southern Region champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve will be part of the newly introduced MK13 million Champions Cup launching activities.
According to the organizers of the trophy through Central Region Football Association (CRFA) Public Relations Officer Kondwani Kandiado, 32 teams from all the regions across the country have been selected to participate and all matches will be played at Champions Stadium in Dowa.
Having won two back to back Aubrey Dimba Trophies for the past two years, The Young Maulle will be returning to the Central Region with an aim of enlarging their dominance over Central Region teams, but Munthali claims his side will come flat out and have warned FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve that they are in for a long afternoon in Dowa.
“This will be the end of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve dominance here in the Central Region. We have been looking for this opportunity to face them and now it’s our time to revenge for whatever they did to our brothers for the past two seasons” said Munthali
Owner of the trophy, Msaiwale King Kabvina has confirmed that all is set for the launch where different activities have been put in place.
Kabvina said “Everything is in place and I urge people to come in large numbers to witness the launching of the Champions Cup, we will also have live music performances from Soldier Lucius Banda and the Zembani Band”
In the Cup, matches will be played on knock out basis and the champion will get K3.5 million while the runners up and third placed team will get MK2 million and MK1 million respectively.
There will also be individual awards during games where man of the match will be receiving MK15,000.
