The Deutscher Volkshochschul-Verband (DVV) has commended Malawi Government for it’s positive response towards promoting Adult Learning Education (ALE) in the country.
This has been said by DVV International Regional Director for Southern Africa Gerhard Quincke during ALE media training aimed at equipping journalists with more knowledge and information on ALE so that they can compete well in the MISA’s ALE category awards.
Quincke said the country is doing fine in as far as promoting Adult Learning Education is concerned despite some financial constraints that have been encountered in the process.
“I think Malawi has positive response, we have an adult education policy in the country, and government will soon launch adult education strategy so I think this country has responded positively although the financial constraints that has been delaying the roll out of the system” said Quincle
He further described the idea of engaging journalists as vital saying the media has big role to play so that people should know importance of elderly learning and education.
DVV International is the Institute for International Cooperation of the German Adult Education Association.
As a leading professional organisation in Adult Education, the Institute has supported Lifelong Learning in developing and transition countries for more than 45 years now.
