Domasi Institution of Management and Technology (DIMT) has called upon its newly graduated students to uphold professionalism in their future endeavors.
The call was made by Rodney Chikafutwa, Country Manager for Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA) in Malawi, on Friday in Zomba ,during the 3rd graduation ceremony of the college.
Chikafutwa, who was the Guest of Honor, emphasized the importance of graduates adhering to the codes and conduct of their respective professions.
“The country needs well-educated, dedicated, and committed individuals who can bring solutions to the challenges that have hindered Malawi’s progress” he said.
Chikafutwa encouraged the graduates to continue their education to degree or master’s level, citing that only well-educated individuals can contribute fully to the country’s development.
He also advised them to venture into business to create jobs for others and improve their lives.
DIMT Principal Alfred Gulani echoed Chikafutwa’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for graduates to apply their knowledge and skills to bring change in their lives and the country.
Gulani advised the graduates to refrain from corrupt practices, which hinder the country’s development.
“The college has aligned its programs to Malawi’s 2063 agenda, aiming to produce graduates who can contribute to achieving the country’s development goals” Said Gulani.
A total of 297 students graduated with diplomas in various programs, including Data Management, Hospital and Hospitality Management, Human Resources Management, Agribusiness Management, Environmental Science Management, HIV / AIDS Management , Public Health and Nutrition ,Food Security and Sustainable Development and Community Development.
One of the graduates, Memory Odilo, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to graduate despite facing financial constraints.
She advised girls to work hard and stay focused to achieve their goals, and plans to venture into business and become an employer.
