Civo Service United Women’s Football team coach Abasi Makawa has hailed his players ahead of 2022 FAM Women’s National Championship playoffs.
According to FAM statement, the games will be played on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Ascent Academy ground in Lilongwe.
Civo Service United Women’s Football team have been handed a chance to progress to the finals of FAM National champions together with Ekwendeni Sisters and Attu Bullets as one team will join nine teams that qualified to the final.
In an interview with The Atlas, Makawa said preparations have gone on well and his ladies looks set to face their opponents.
“We are more than ready for the upcoming playoffs, my players have been been doing well and today as the last day for preparations Iam satisfied with what I have seen over the week” said Makawa
Asked if he is aware of his opponents, Makawa said “thats the only problem we are having, we don’t know them so sometimes it’s difficult to prepare for the opponent you’re unaware of”
Makawa further said that he expected tough encounters but is optimistic that after games on Sunday his team will make it to the finals.
On the team news, he said all his players are available for selection.
Civo’s first games will be against Ekwendeni Sisters in a 9am fixture before facing Attu Bullets 2hrs30min later.
