The Central Region Football Association rolled into action six mid-week matches of K15.5 Million Chipiku Premier Division.

Wimbe United bounced back from last weekend’s defeat at Villa to reclaim top position after a win against Mbabzi in Group A whereas Ngwanje search for the first win in Group B continues after surrendering maximum points to Luanar FC.

We take a look at four talking points of Wednesdays games.

WIMBE RETURNS TOP

Wimbe United beat Mbadzi United 1-0 to reclaim top position in group A, thanks to Jawadu Ausi lone strike.

Wimbe United were displaced over the weekend by Silver Strikers Reserve after a surprise 2-1 loss against Villa FC.

But on Wednesday, Wimbe took advantage of Young Bankers 0-0 draw at St. Gabriel Medicals to go top.

The Kasungu side move a point above second placed Silver Strikers Reserve with 14 points. Both have played 7 games.

AIRBORNE ROARS

Airborne Rangers leapfrog Mbabzi United and St. Gabriel Medicals to move from second bottom to third from the top as they beat bottom side, Villa FC 2-0.

Airborne Rangers have now accumulated 10 points, 4 behind Group A leaders where as Mbadzi and St. Gabriel Medicals are tied on 9 points, on 4th and 5th respectively while Villa remains bottom with just 3 points.

RELIABLE DONORS

Group B bottom side, Ngwanje FC continued to donate points after suffering a 1-0 defeat at home against Luanar on Wednesday.

With the result, Ngwanje remains bottom with 2 points from 7 games while Luanar have moved top with 14 points, overtaking Support Battalion and Extreme FC in the process.

Extreme FC dropped second with 13 points after their 2-2 draw with third placed Support Battalion who have 12 points.

KAWINGA MAINTAINS FOURTH

Kawinga FC maintained fourth spot following a 2-2 draw against Kamuzu Barracks Reserve.

Kawinga FC relayed on goals from Amadu Makawa and Anold Son Kuyama while Patrick Jailos and Stain Chirwa were on target for KB Reserve.

As it stands, both Kawinga FC and KB Reserve have maintained their positions. Kawinga are fourth with 9 points while KB Reserve stays 5th with 6 points.
