The Atlas takes a look at some talking points from the weekend’s action:

AIRBORNE SLUMP TO THEIR SECOND STRAIGHT LOSS

After an unbeaten run of 12 games in Group C, Airborne Rangers suffered back-to-back defeats within five days.

Their winning streak was snapped by Green Rangers last week Sunday and on Thursday, they also suffered another 3-2 home defeat against Villa FC.

Goals from Denis Yawali and Chancy Mphanga were not enough to hand the Soldiers any point as Villa struck three times through Mazuzo John and a brace from Jafali John.

Airborne remains group C leaders with 32 points from 14 games where as Villa FC who also played out a goalless draw with Support Battalion last Sunday are second on 22 points.

SILVER RESERVE BAG IN TWO MATCHES

After Thursday’s goalless draw against Kamuzu Barracks Reserve, Silver Strikers Reserve bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Mitundu Strikers on Sunday.

Kondanani Samuel and Felix Selemani were on target for the Young Bankers at Mitundu Ground.

The two results means Silver Reserve cling on second in their group with 27 points after while Kamuzu Barracks who also shot down Panthers FC 5-2 on Sunday are four points behind Silver.
