Hours after his alleged abduction, Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa who was found in Nathenje, in Lilongwe has described President Lazarus Chakwera as a threat to democracy.
It is suspected that Namiwa was kidnapped by unknown people along the Mtunthama road, just immediately after holding a press conference in the city of Lilongwe on Wednesday, where CDEDI together with the concerned citizens and other stakeholders confirmed and announced their readiness for the nationwide demonstrations.
During the briefing the activists confirmed their planned nationwide demonstrations scheduled for tomorrow.
Speaking to reporter after being treated as an outpatient at ABC Clinic, Namiwa vowed to continue fighting for the voiceless.
He said what happened was simply an attempt to silence critical voices.
He however refused to divulge more information, saying he will do so after discussing with his family, lawyers and law enforcers.
