FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have confirmed that they will conduct the trophies parade this Saturday, March 16 in Blantyre.
The Club’s Chief Administrative Officer, Albert Chigoga confirmed the development with Mpira TV saying they thought it wise to show the Palestines the trophies that they swept in the 2023 football season.
“We will have a trophies parade on March 16 which aims at showing the trophies that we won in the 2023 season.
“It was a historical moment, this is the first time for a team to win all the trophies (4) excluding the Charity Shield Cup. For this reason, we thought that it was good to show the supporters and football fraternity the trophies,” he said.
Chigoga said the trophy parade is being sponsored by their official sponsors, First Capital Bank and it will start in the township of Ndirande [the Club’s historical base] at FCB’s Branch.
“Bullets to play a friendly match against UD Songo”
The People’s Team have decided to continue with their arranged international friendly match despite that they will miss some of their key players due to the four-Nation tournament slated for 18 to 26 March.
Initially, the team was planning to have two friendly matches against Songo and Ferroviaro De Beira but the latter game was cancelled, instead they will travel to Tete to face Songo.
Chigoga said the technical panel decided to go ahead with the game in order for the newly signed players to have a feel of international games.
“Initially, we were undecided on where the game should be played, whether here in Malawi or Mozambique. However, our coach decided that we should travel to Mozambique.
“He wants these boys to have the feeling of playing away from home. And again, we have the four-Nation tournament in Malawi organized by FAM and other Associations, and for us to have another game, an international game for that matter, it won’t be good.
“We will play in Mozambique on March 23. In Caf [Champions League] we play home and away games, so we want these players to adapt to the environment of playing away from home because away games and home games are always different.
“This is the opportunity for those players who are newly signed to play games away from Malawi against a team that also play in the Champions League, it will be good to them,” added Chigoga.
Chigoga revealed that the logistics will be arranged by UD Songo including accommodations.
“We have a very good relationship with them, you remember that they are always there when we invite them for our Pre-season Tournament,” he tells Mpira TV.
Miracle Gabeya will have the chance to reunite with his former team as he joined the Club easier this year after facing a chop at Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
Bullets are likely to be without newly signed midfielder, Lloyd Banega Aaron, Lanjesi Nkhoma, Innocent Nyasulu in their friendly match as they will be in Flames Camp. Patrick Mabedi will release the final squad for the four-Nation tournament this weekend.
Mark Harrison and Kalisto Pasuwa will re-ignite their rivalry when they face off as the two shared historical moments when Harrison was in the dugout for the Nomads.
