FCB Nyasa Big Bullets left it late to beat Mighty Tigers 1-0 at Kamuzu Stadium yesterday to return to the TNM Super League summit.
Bullets scored the lone goal in the 88th minute when a Tigers player was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty area, and Yamikani Fodya made no mistake from his spot kick.
In a post-match interview, Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa expressed satisfaction, saying his charges pressed well, realising that Tigers players were tired of frequent travels to their matches.
“It was very unfortunate that we failed to convert after trying to rotate the players to keep the ball after missing a lot of chances. Later on we managed to score a goal to collect three points,” said Pasuwa.
Coach for Mighty Tigers, Christopher Nyambose, said it was unfortunate his side conceded a goal in the dying minutes, adding that his boys were burn out.
“The strength went down after a long run which technically made Bullets to use rotation system and our players realised the system very late.
Of course we played well though we lost chances in the first half; I can say it was not our lucky day,” Nyambose said.
In another TNM Super League fixture at Kasungu Stadium yesterday, Kamuzu Barracks defeated Ekwendeni Hammers 1-0.
