FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Board Chairperson and President, Konrad Buckle has asked the players to observe the Club’s core values when they are conducting themselves.

As reported first by Wa Mpira last week, the players boycotted training on Monday forcing the management to pay them money that they claimed to be owed of which the team declined the claim saying “player is being owed his cut by Bullets, we pay them on 28 every month.”

Wa Mpira reported that the players were demanding to meet the Board Chairperson and Club’s President, Konrad Buckle but last week he just assured them of finding space to meet them.

Buckle who paid a visit to the players on Tuesday morning after being requested, said Bullets players should follow proper channels when they have grievances.

“Playing for Bullets should actually be a pride and when you win games, you should not just win to excite the management, supporters even the board, but you should also win games for yourself. For you to be the superstars in the land and across the borders, you need to put your career first as you play for the Bullets badge.

“Discipline is a core value for Bullets and when you have grievances, follow the right channels. Your issues should be addressed by the technical team, management, and the board not taking them to the public,” he said.

Buckle was accompanied by the Club’s Vice President, Escort Chinula, and Supporters Director, Stone Mwamadi and Chigoga was also present.

Konrad assured all the players to meet their demands and he will be “proud” to see them fighting for the badge.

“As Big Bullets, we will increase your allowances when we play in the Caf Champions League and we assure you of good welfare including good accommodation. We expect a lot from you and you are the ones to raise the brand of this biggest team in Malawi,” said Buckle.

Acting Chief Executive Officer, Albert Chigoga said it’s now a turn for the players to pay back as the board meets their demands.

“The ball is in their court [the players]. Now, we are expecting more from them and the players have encouraged the President to come and watch Sunday’s game as they are in a buoyant mood. We expect them to display the performance that we have been identifying them.

“The grievances that the players had, were presented to the President and he decided to visit the players himself. He encouraged them to say that Bullets is the biggest Club in Malawi and they should bear in mind that Bullets is bigger than any member of the Club,” he said.

Precious Sambani, Captain of the Club, on behalf of all players, said the coming of the President has injected a sense of positivity and they are ready to pay for the gesture.

He said, “We know our Parent [Buckle] is a very busy person but he spared his time to meet us after we requested. We are happy with what he has done and as players, we understand where we are currently, we are not in a good position.”
