In a bid to promote environmental sustainability in the country, LifeCO has joined hands with Blantyre City Activation, Sustain Green in their environmental sustainability project by donating 1,200 fruit tree seedlings.

Speaking when making the announcement, LifeCO Pension Services Manager Zacheus Nyirenda said the company is interested in being a part of the Blantyre City Activation as one way of playing a meaningful role in the society which is line with the company’s goals.

“We have made a decision to be part of this initiative and our choice is Mussa village in Chiradzulu where recently people relocated due to the devastation of Cyclone Freddy last year and were now in a location that did not have many trees. As LifeCO we felt we could ease some of their needs by planting trees that can produce fruits which the villagers will enjoy as well as addressing deforestation”, said Nyirenda.

Last year, the Blantyre City Activation was attended by more than 1,000 people including 30 corporates and community.
