Civil Service United Head Coach, Abbas Makawa said the team is pumped up for their forthcoming game against Dedza Dynamos Football Club at home on Saturday.
Civil had a disappointing away trip to Mzuzu where they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mzuzu City Hammers but Makawa said they knew what went wrong in their away game of the opening fixture of the season.
“We know what went wrong in Mzuzu,” he said. “we sat down with the players, analysed the situation, and polished up the problems to make sure that we should carry the day in the next game.”
Dedza Dynamos though failed to get maximum points from their opening game of the season, it was a point gained after holding the quadruple winners, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets at Dedza Stadium.
Dedza Dynamos Football Club are in their third season in the elite league since their promotion to the elite league.
On the other hand, Civil Service United are one of the big teams in the competition and they once won the league and they will be willing to get their season rolling.
With Dedza spending two seasons in the league, there are just four meetings between the two teams.
Dedza have had a slight advantage over Civil with two wins. The last meeting between the two teams saw Civil Service United hammering Dedza 3-0 at home.
Andrew Bunya’s boys are yet to win at Civo Stadium with their two wins coming at home. Promise Kamwendo bagged a brace for Dedza in the first fixture between the two teams.
Being at home, Dedza had to stage a dramatic comeback as Christopher Kumwembe had nodded Civil in front in the 44th minute.
Dedza recorded another of the same scoreline last year at Dedza Stadium. Edward Dakalira and Clement Nyondo scored for the home side while Chikaiko Batison was on target for the Servants.
Not only a disappointing opening fixture, Civil Service United have also had setbacks as of late. Connecting to their last season’s form, Civil Service United have just won two of the last seven games, losing two and drawing thrice times.
However, heading into Saturday’s game, the Servants will need to forget about their last form and put things in the right way.
From their last seven matches, Civil only beat Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Dedza. Binwell Katinji’s strike was enough for the Servants to beat Wanderers.
On Dedza Dynamos’ side, they are another struggling team with only one win from their last seven games. They only beat FCB Nyasa Big Bullets courtesy of Clement Nyondo’s early strike at Dedza Stadium.
They lost Four games and recorded just two draws. They have a new coach in the house, Andrew Bunya who said getting a point against Bullets gave him hope.
“They have played according to instructions and if we can move with today’s mentality, then we are in for a great season ahead,” Bunya indicated
