Malawian dancehall artist Benedicto Kazembe, popularly known as 6th, has released a nine-track album titled Mfana wa Malawi, aiming to inspire and promote homegrown talent.
The album, unveiled this week, features collaborations with several well-known local artists, including Malinga Mafia, Brainlock T-Kas, A Inno Busy, and Malimba Music.
“The theme of the album is about how Malawian talent can make a big difference in the country. It’s also about encouraging people to believe in themselves and improve their lives,” said 6th in an interview with Malawi News Agency.
The artist said the album blends messages of love, peace, happiness, energy and prosperity, reflecting his vision of uplifting Malawians through music. He described the project as a celebration of national identity and personal resilience.
Inspired by his belief in the power of music as a tool for social change, 6th said Mfana wa Malawi is meant to generate positive energy and affirm the potential of local creatives in driving Malawi’s development.
“This project is close to my heart because it speaks directly to the youth and dreamers out there who need a reminder that they matter and can make it,” he added.
6th rose to prominence with his hit single Dzuwa, and has steadily gained recognition for his vibrant stage presence and socially conscious lyrics. The new album further cements his position in the local dancehall scene.
The artist is currently promoting the album on digital platforms and plans to hold live performances in selected districts across the country.
