Mighty Wanderers stunned FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with a commanding 3—0 victory in the Blantyre Derby at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, marking their first back-to-back league wins over their fierce rivals in several years.
Adam Wallace opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Blessings Singini sealed the victory with two quick goals in the 76th and 83rd minutes, leaving Bullets struggling to contain the Nomads attacking play.
“Im very happy with what the boys have done today. Beating Bullets is not easy, but we will keep working hard to achieve our mission of winning the league,” said Wanderers Head Coach Bob Mpinganjira.
The Nomads displayed dominance in both halves, controlling possession and creating numerous chances that thrilled their supporters. Captain Flex Zulus solid performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
Bullets Head Coach Peter Mponda conceded defeat, saying his team lacked composure and failed to capitalize on their few chances but remained hopeful of recovering in upcoming matches.
Following the result, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets remain top of the TNM Super League table with 49 points from 21 games, while Mighty Wanderers trail closely with 48 points from 20 matches and a game in hand, intensifying the title race.
The derby ended with jubilant Wanderers fans celebrating through singing and dancing, marking one of the clubs zmost memorable victories this season.
