The Kasungu based side TN Stars Football Club is running an online fundraising initiative through GoFundMe.
According to information on gofundme.com, the team which has been relegated from the TNM Super League is targeting £1000 to survive.
The team, founded by Thomas Nyirenda from whom the name TN is derived, has so far raised £20.
“TN Stars Football Club is an emerging soccer club from a local soccer academy initiative in Kasungu district in Malawi. This initiative was started by Thomas Nyirenda from whom the name TN is derived.
“TN Star is a self funded from personal income to accommodate financially disadvantaged young boys to keep a healthy living through sports. Not only in Kasungu district, but also in neighbouring districts.
“It gives the young youth a chance to kick a ball, enjoy life, build healthy bodies, keep out trouble and try their lack of chasing a dream of being a superstar through TN Stars FC Academy. The Nyirenda’s commitment: to play our part in giving the youth a chance at soccer.
“TN Stars is looking for funding to continue to help the academy in its work consistently. Help us make a difference in the lives of the youth for a better and brighter tomorrow,” reads part of the information on the website
