FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Coach, Kalisto Pasuwa says his players are tired and they need to rest after playing so many games. The Zimbabwean said he was not surprised to see his team coming from behind to snatch a win over Kamuzu Barracks in a five-goal thriller after a scrappy performance in the first quarter of the game.
During the post-match interviews, the former Dynamos and Warriors Coach was not happy despite collecting the maximum points to open a three-point gap over second placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers saying he is worried with the way his players are being treated by the Football administrators.
“Now, half of my team is injured and we are having problems of [squad] depth and it’s in crucial positions that we are missing players each and every game that we are playing,” said Pasuwa.
Kamuzu Barracks who were yet to suffer a defeat to a Southern Region Football Team were off to a commanding start in the game with Chimwemwe Chisambi and Olson Kanjira causing problems to Bullets’ defence.
The Yellow Submarines were better in all areas than the hosts who were too slow on the ball allowing Patrick Banda who was playing as a defending midfielder for KB to enjoy the game.
The People’s Team were trying to regain their momentum after conceding in the 10th minute when Olson Kanjira beat Rabson Chiyenda with a close-range left-footed tap in from Chisambi’s well delivered ball from the right flank.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets had to score two quick goals in the second half through Ephraim Kondowe and Maxwell Phodo before Kanjira again brought the parity four minutes later. Lanjesi Nkhoma scored the winner for the hosts three minutes later to give Bullets the win.
Pasuwa said he was not surprised to see his team starting below average in the game because they are tired after playing so many games.
“I was not surprised [to see us starting slowly]. We are tired. These players are also human beings and they also need time to rest. Just imagine in the second half we were looking for an equalizer, so for us to get an equalizer we need to tempo the intensity up.
“In three days time, then we are going to have another game, then what do you expect? They will go down again, they will do the same way. But we need also, people around to support us in whatever we are doing just because next time we need to sit down and consider, is it good for one to play in the [CAF] Champions League and also play Local matches others we will end up killing the players.
“It can be incredible [to score two goals in two minutes] but I am saying, would they finish the distance? What we consider at the end of the day is, we are having so many games that are coming, are they going to finish off or it’s a case where they will push the games like what we have done today. That is what is needed to manage as coaches also.
“Am not happy, I am still worried about my players, I am feeling worried about my players how these people [football administrators] the way they are treating them. We can’t do anything as Coaches, for us we can be complaining and complaining, if they can hear us they will hear us, if they don’t, they will tell us to go and play again,” added Pasuwa.
Since losing to TP Mazembe on September 30, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have played seven games and they have been playing regularly every three days. They played against Mighty Tigers, Mafco FC, Civil Service United, Ekwendeni Hammers, Moyale Barracks, Chitipa United and Kamuzu Barracks and they have won six, drawing once.
