Arthur Kalondola and Mathews Hamuza scored each to hand St. Gabriel Medicals Zitha a 2-0 victory over Ngolowindo FC on Wednesday in K16.5 Million Chipiku Premier Division League.
The victory has lifted the Namitete side closer to the top as they trail leaders Silver Strikers Reserve with a single point.
St. Gabriel Medicals Zitha have 24 points while Silver Strikers Reserve have 25 points, all from 10 games.
With the victory, the race for Super League promotion is still open to six teams as seven points separates the leaders and seventh placed Mbabvi United in the first round of 12 teams.
On the other hand, Ngolowindo FC have stacked at the bottom with six points from 11 games.
In another match, Kawinga FC were denied a chance to move third after being held to a 1-1 draw by Leyman Panthers.
Panthers were on target at their backyard through Andrew Mapemba where as Lazarus Chirwa scored for Kawinga FC.
Kawinga FC are on fifth with 19 points from 10 games while Leyman Panthers stays 10th with six points from 10 games.
