Musician Skeffa Chimoto will perform at Wakawaka Motel on Novermber 11, under the banner ‘Fill Up Wakawaka’ to return the venue’s past glory of hosting big music shows with patrons filling up to the brim to dance the old and the new hip from the stage masters.
In an interview with Malawi News Agency (MANA), Chimoto’s manager, Levinson Msakambewa said they are ready and geared to fill up Wakawaka Motel.
“Fill up Wakawaka is the theme to create the sense of urgency. We want people to be entertained so that they should get what they deserve. This will be a music event that is trying to reminisce the good old days when the place used to host big music shows,” said Msakambewa.
He added that the show will usher in seasonal artists and pure talent from Zeze, Driemo Anthony Makondetsa to raise Wakawaka just as it was previously.
“Entertainment lovers have not had that feeling and closeness to the music of Zeze and Driemo. People enjoy Skeffa’s music but this will be all a mixture of different genres and we expect a mixture of people too including the old and the young,” said Msakambewa.
He added that there is a great, love togetherness in music apart from new experience and new acquaintance.
“Come and enjoy and the bottom line is to have fun and enjoy the music,” Msakambewa added.
In a separate interview, Black Missionaries Band leader, Anjilu Fumulani said patrons with this experience will refresh memories while enjoying new kids on the bloc and their music.
“People that side have really missed ma Blacks and having Driemo, Zeze, Skeffa himself and Anthony Makondesa as the top performers will be a mix up of old and new experiences. This means more fun and huge entertainment,” said Anjilu.
He pledged to give people fun and duly entertainment since the combination of fresh young artists alongside old ones will be marvelous.
Commenting on the matter through Skeffas page, Skeffa’s fun Mayamiko Chingwalu said she has never witnessed such a combination before and was looking forward to this combination.
“Am expecting an energetic performance from the artists. I can say the combination of old and new ones is just a thing which I have never thought of before,” she said as she expects Hip hop, reggae alongside Amapiano at the Fill Up Wakawaka show.
