Simso Oil and Transport Company Limited has supported the Presidential Charity Golf Tournament scheduled for next month in Lilongwe with K20 million.
To be held on 8 October 2022 at the Lilongwe Golf Club, the tournament was launched to raise funds for the vulnerable members of society and President Lazarus Chakwera and Vice President Saulos Chilima are expected to play in all the 18 holes.
Presenting the donation in Lilongwe on Tuesday, Simso Oil Head of Human Resources and Administration, Aaron Kachilonda said as a corporate they saw it fit to come in and support the cause which is in line with their corporate social initiative policy.
On his part, Presidential Charity Golf Committee Member, Boyd Luwe welcomed the donation saying it will help them reach their target.
“The Committee is very grateful towards Simso Oil’s response to come and support the Presidential Charity Golf Tournament which seeks to raise funds for needy tertiary students and Cyclone Ana victims,” he said
Luwe called upon other corporates and individuals to come on board and play their part in helping the cause
He said all donations will be published in the national press, beneficiaries will be thoroughly vetted and put into the public domain.
