In a bid to promote entrepreneurship and empower women financially, Planetarium Institute on Tuesday organized an engagement session at M-Hub in Lilongwe.
Among other things, women through a panel discussion were encouraged to apply for grants that are open for their own benefit.
Speaking at the meeting, Planetarium Institute Chief Executive Officer Memory Nyondo said the discussion was aimed at amplifying the need for women to take part in applying for grants.
Nyondo said the discussion will help to reach more women.
“We understand that there are lots of women that have the potential to excel financially but need a push so as Planetarium Institute we felt the need to try to open up opportunities for them to access start ups and excel”, she said.
Attendees to the discussion were introduced to the Tony Elumelu Foundation which is aims to mobilize 3,000 women with green business ideas or are already in green businesses and give access to US$5,000 per individual/project
Applications for the grant are open until 5th May this year.
