FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Head Coach, Kalisto Pasuwa is still linked with a move to return to Zimbabwe as the Head Coach for the National Team but the gaffer is disinclined to accept ZIFA’s offer.
Reports in Zimbabwe suggest that the Zimbabwe Football Association Normalisation Committee is making frantic efforts to have Pasuwa back as Warriors coach.
Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has for a long time been courting the former Dynamos Coach trying to entice him to return as Warriors coach in a dream technical team set up that should include current Dynamos Coach, Norman Mapeza and Takesure Chiragwi as his assistants.
However Pasuwa has been reluctant to have another dance as the Warriors coach and was also not open to ZIFA choosing assistants for him.
After successful spells in Malawi, the Zimbabwean gaffer has been linked with moves away from the Club as he holds an impressive record at Blantyre based giants with top teams like Kaizer Chiefs, Vipers FC of Uganda reported to be chasing his signature.
Responding to the rumours, Nyirenda was quoted by Zodiak Radio saying that Pasuwa is going nowhere and they are willing to tie up the former Dynamos coach to a new contract.
“Pasuwa is with us and remember that he has a running contract with us which is ending on December 31 this year. He is happy with us and he is going nowhere.
“The season is over and we are waiting for a report from him in the just-ended season and the players that he needs us to bring to the Clubs. Rumours are there, and we are surprised because he has been doing well.
“As Bullets, Pasuwa is with us. Sometimes it’s good to remain where you are. Pasuwa has achieved a lot with us and he must not go somewhere else to tarnish his record. Teams like Kaizer Chiefs are not patient enough, they fire coaches immediately when the results are not there.
“We hope that Pasuwa can’t make a decision of leaving Bullets and we want him to stay. He has won all the trophies this season, we don’t change the winning coach and we need to keep him,” he said.
Kalisto has one year left in his current contract with the Blantyre based giants.
After beating Mafco FC in the Airtel Top 8 Cup, Pasuwa responded to the rumours linking him away from the Club saying he still has an unfinished business with the team.
He said, “Remember, I still have a year left on my contract and I have to fulfill it. If anything, I will have to talk to the management.”
ZIFA are in a hurry to appoint a coach to take charge of the Warriors at the four nation tournament in Malawi during the international break later this month which will also involve Zambia and Kenya.
The Warriors are without a coach after ZIFA decided not to renew Brito’s contract at the end of December. Mapeza is ZIFA’s second option with Chiragwi earmarked for the U23 job.
Warriors legend Bruce Grobbelaar who is in the country[Zimbabwe ] could be another option after he expressed his desire to coach the Warriors once again during an interview on ZiFM radio, according to ZimSports Connect.
