Minister of information Gospel Kazako has assured Malawians that government has put in place measures to make sure that the country will be food secured during the lean period.
Kazako made the remarks in Lilongwe on Friday when he was addressing the media.
He was was accompanied by officials from The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA).
DoDMA Commissioner, Charles Kalemba said they have mobilized funds that will assist 3.8 milion households with cash and maize.
“We started distributing maize and also K25,000 monthly cash outs per household in five southern region councils in November last year before extending to all councils of the region a month later, now we have reached out to 27 districts across the country to those with food insecure” said Kalemba
