The newly formed National Development Party (NDP) has announced that its Elective Convention will take place on December 14, 2024, in Mzuzu, Malawi.
Party’s Secretary General, Gerald Chilongo made the revelation today during press conference held at NDP Secretariat offices in Lilongwe.
According to Chilongo, all leadership positions within the party, including the presidency, vice presidency, secretary general, and other key roles, will be contested during the convention.
The convention which will be first of it’s kind since NDP establishment earlier this year, is expected to be a crucial event for the party, shaping its direction in the years to come.
“We are pleased to announce the NDP’s inaugural Party Convention, scheduled to take place on 14th December, 2024” said Chilongo.
The event will serve as a platform for dialogue, strategy development, and the formal adoption of NDP’s policies and leadership structures.
According to Chilongo, the Party has organized it’s launch a day after convention, on 15th December 2024 in Mzuzu.
He said NDP are going solo and will be on the ballot next year the political space.
NDP got registered on 1st March, 2024 and received it’s certificate on the 5th of March, 2024.
