Member of Parliament for Salima South East Mike Ng’ombe Mwawa has said the expansion program of New Chigombe Ecco bricks in the district would fight deforestation in the country as most people will manage to build houses using blocks and bricks as opposed to red-burnt bricks.

“It is an open secret that human survival crucially hinges on how well we take care of the environment. I am also aware that conservation and sustainable use of environmental resources and their protection depends on changed behavior by all individuals household, consumers, private sector as well as public institutions,” said Mwawa.
