Mpinganjira splashes K1.2m to Wanderers players

Mighty Mukuru Wanderers President who is also the Board Chairperson, Dr Thom Mpinganjira has splashed money amounting to K1.2 million to the players as one of rewarding them for their performance in the past two games.

The Business magoo rewarded two goalkeepers for keeping cleansheets and four goals scorers.

The Nomads announced the development through their Facebook page saying the President’s gesture is a sign of delight and a reward for hardworking amongst the players.

“Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC President and Board Chairperson, Dr Thomson Frank Mpinganjira has rewarded goalkeepers William Thole and Dalitso Khungwa with K200,000.00 each for earning clean sheets during games against Bangwe All Stars and FOMO FC respectively.

“The President has also expressed gratefulness to Peter Cholopi, Christopher Kumwembe, Wisdom Mpinganjira and Chiukepo Msowoya for scoring during games against Bangwe All Stars and FOMO FC. He has since apportioned K200,000.00 to each scorer,” writes the Club.

Dalitso Khungwa was handed his first start of the season against Friends of Mulanje Orphans, FOMO Football Club and he kept a cleansheet and Chiukepo Msowoya came off the bench to score the only goal that propelled Mighty Mukuru Wanderers to the Round of 16 of the 2023 Castel Challenge Cup.

On Sunday afternoon, Mark Harrison restored William Thole back to the starting Xi against Bangwe All Stars and he produced splendid performance to record his 12th cleansheet as the Nomads hammered their brothers 3-0 with Christopher Kumwembe, Peter Cholopi and Wisdom Mpinganjira on the score-sheet.

The Lali Luban side who are second on the table with 53 points, level with the leaders, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets with only goal difference separating them, will face their cross-town rivals, Bullets in their next game though the Club penned Sulom to consider postponing the Much-anticipated Blantyre Derby.
