Jamaican reggae icon Luciano also known as Jah Messenger has arrived in the country to perform on October 28 2023.
He is set to perform at the Jah Kings Reggae concert set for Grand Business Park along the Lilongwe West Bypass Road.
This will be the second time for Luciano to perform in the country after he performed at Silver Stadium in 2015.
Speaking to reporters at Kamuzu International Airport soon after arrival, Luciano said he was excited to be in Malawi and is ready to give a good performance on Saturday.
Born Jepther McClaymont, Luciano is a devoted rastafarian whose lyrics promote consciousness and is expected to perform in Malawi alongside other well-known Jamaican artists such as Everton Blender and Iqulah Rastafari. They will be backed by the Tuff Lions Band International.
First to arrive last week Saturday was another Jamaican Reggae star, Everton Blender.
Blender is a Reggae singer and producer, known for his smooth, crooning, tenor vocals, up-tempo arrangements and spiritual uplifting themes while Luciano is well known with hits like Lord give me the strength, sweep over my soul and it’s me again among other reggae jams
Blender said he is more prepared to dish out the best performance and people should expect nothing but the best and unforgettable music festival.
“I am very excited to be in Malawi, I love the fact that they have welcomed me with love. I have prepared enough and am looking forward to the best performance. Good vibes everywhere,’ he said
One of the organizers Richard Chisala said all is set for the event.
Tickets for the event are currently on sale at area 18 Puma filling station, Maula Puma, Nitel Offices, Engen Filling Station in Kawale and Khwezy Bus offices at Gateway Mall among other places.
