A Lilongwe based man Francis Chigudu is all smiles after winning K125 million on Betpawa’s Aviator game.

He joins a list of other big winners who have cashed home millions of Kwacha through the same betting platform.

Aviator is a game that involves operating a virtual aircraft where players stake on as it takes off and has a multiplier that increases each time the pilot climbs higher.

Players can stake as low as K1 and end up winning the ultimate prize of K125m per bet.

Speaking in an interview, Chigudu who placed a stake of 100o kwacha said he could not believe it when he checked his account only to find out the he has won K125 million.

“I saw the figure in my account and said this is not real. So I decided to try withdraw the money through Airtel money and when it went through I screamed on top of my voice,” said Chigudu.

Interestingly, Chigudu told us that he uses a faulty phone that can’t survive when disconnected from the charger.

“This money will transform my life. You can’t believe it that even the phone I used to play the game is like a ground line which needs to be connected to electricity every time. So I will need a proper expenditure plan for this money,” he said.

In his remarks betpawa marketing coordinator for Malawi Bita Nakanga said the win affirms their motto of being the home of big winners.

“We are the home of big winners. Not so long ago we paid out millions to another winner from Lilongwe and just after 3 months he we are again splashing out millions to another big winner,” he said.

Chigudu’s big win follows that of another Lilongwe based betpawa customer who won K172 million in February after placing two bets of K299 and K2 399.

Africa’s record winning amount on betpawa is held by a Ghanaian customer Fuseini who won an equivalent of K841 million.
