It may sound like a joke, but it’s not. Member of Parliament (MP) for Lilongwe Mapuyu constituency Esther Cecilia Kathumba surprised many as she suggested that President Lazarus Chakwera should rule this country as long as it pleases him.
Kathumba, a member of the ruling Malawi Congress Party (MCP) led by Chakwera, made the remarks on Thursday morning at Senior Chief Kalolo.
Chakwera was the guest of honor at the launch of the US$350 million Transport and Land Compact which intends to develop transport corridors in agricultural productive areas in the centrals, south and northen regions.
She claimed that changing leaders will jeorpadize Chakwera’s transformative leadership.
