By Patrick Ng’ambi:

Kim of Diamonds, real name Kimberly Kaunda, is Malawi’s renowned singer, songwriter and RnB artist who currently reside in Lilongwe.

She is a business woman by profession as she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Growing up in a family devoted in music, Kim loved music and her love for music grew to an extent of learning how to sing better, writing songs, learning how to play a guitar and how to make beats. As time went on, she even reached to a level of leading praise and worship songs at church.

The songbird has two albums under her name and she is currently set to add an Extended Playlist (EP) to her musically crafted image this coming Friday on 28 October.

Speaking in an interview on Monday, the artist said she decided to come up with an EP so as to appreciate love situations considering that love is a beautiful thing worth experiencing.

“This short and sweet EP with conversations about love is dedicated to everyone going through relatable love situations and to my goddaughter, Summer-Reign,” Kim said.

She said the EP has an up-tempo Afro-fusion vibe and that from one song into another, there is a different perspective of love thereby terming the songs as diamonds.

The EP which has been produced by Ckay the producer has five songs install and the most notable thing is that Kim of Diamonds has not featured any artist in this compilation. In her defense, she said features will come in her next projects.

“There will be something else with features in the future, maybe next year but we will see. I am learning to talk more when my ducks are in a roll,” she said.

She said Mad, A Million, Stutter, No Need and Slay Dragons are the songs in the EP and that the final song in the EP is an introduction to the direction of music she will be exploring next year.

After disclosing the release date of the EP on her Facebook page, many of her fans were full of excitement considering that it has been a while since the artist dropped a package of songs.
