Chancellor Kaferapanjira will leave Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) Council as Chief Executive Officer, the position he held for 21 years.
According to a noting of the impending leave signed by MCCCI president Lekani Katandula, Kaferapanjira is expected to depart on January 31, 2024.
“Mr. Kaferapanjira’s remarkable joumey of dedication and leadership within MCCCI spans an impressive 21 years. Throughout this time, Mr. Kaferapanjira played a significant role in spearheading numerous transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing the status of the MCCCI as an apex private sector representative body in Malawi.
‘His extraordinary vision and leadership not only made an indelible mark on the private sector but also forged a lasting legacy within MCCCI. His unwavering commitment and dedication to private sector development has been a driving force behind MCCCI’s current stature and reputation.
“We extend our profound gratitude to Mr. Kaferapanjira for this unwavering allegiance, passion, enthusiasm, and motivation, which profoundly impacted our organization over the past two decades. His departure will leave a void that will be felt by our entire team of staff within MCCCI, Council, and members.
“Mr. Kaferapanjira’s energy, foresight, and guidance will be deeply missed. We wish him every success in all his future endeavours. Concurrently, the Council is actively initiating the search for a new Chief Executive to build upon the foundations laid by Mr. Kaferapanjira.
