By Walughano Lumbira:

The Great Angels Choir will on Sunday, Christmas Day launch their fifth compact disc (CD) titled Ufumu Umodzi Suukilana at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

Speaking Thursday in an interview, the group’s music director, William Zonda said the launch of the CD will be spiced up by different renowned artists such as, Thoko Katimba and Skeffa Chimoto among others.

Zonda urged fans to turn in their large numbers for them to enjoy newly released songs such as Ndikhulupilira Bwanji, Ali M’njira, Usataye Mtima and Ndikhale among others and interact with artists performing live on stage.

“Let me urge all our fans to turn up to this auspicious celebration event and enjoy our new songs from the CD,” Zonda said.

Stella Kachigamba based in Area 25 in Lilongwe was happy with the news saying she is very ready to see the choir and other artists performing on the stage come Sunday.

“To say the truth the choir pleases me since it started singing. The good thing is that they don’t frustrate us. Their songs teach, comfort and give hope to listeners,” Kachigamba said.

Another fan from Mzuzu, Ulemu Harawa asked the group to consider launching the album in the Northern Region since she cannot manage to travel to Lilongwe with the rising cost of transport.

“I understand the group will launch the album in Lilongwe and Blantyre respectively but my appeal is that they should consider taking the launch to Mzuzu as well to balance up in entertaining its fans,” Harawa said.
