Nyasa Big Bullets will face Mighty Wanderers in the 2022 FDH Bank Cup after both teams progressed to the semifinals.
The People’s Team move one step further than last year to make the semifinal after beating Chitipa United 2-0 at Rumphi Stadium.
Nyasa Big Bullets were 1-0 up at halftime through Babatunde Adepoju’s 32nd minute strike.
Anthony Mfune doubled the lead after 61 minutes to ensure a 2-0 victory over the Northern Region Football Association League side.
The victory for Nyasa Big Bullets confirmed the third derby this season will happen after Mighty Mukuru Wanderers thrashed Kamuzu Barracks 4-1.
Mighty Wanderers took the lead after 41 minutes through Vincent Nyangulu who headed home from Vitumbiko Kumwenda’s cross just few minutes after Stanley Sanudi had missed from the spot.
The nomads extended the lead to 3-0 midway in the second half through another header from Francis Nkonda and left footed shot from Vitumbiko Kumwenda.
Kamuzu Barracks reduced the arrears with 10 minutes to go courtesy of Zeliat Nkhoma’s penalty but moment later substitute Isaac Kaliati nailed it with the last goal of the day for the nomads to register their biggest win in the FDH Cup this season.
It will be the third time for Nyasa Big Bullets to play Wanderers this season after the first round of TNM Super League ended 2-1 in favor of Bullets before the two sides settled for a 3-3 draw in the second round.
