Dedza Central Constituency’s by-election ballot papers in

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has today received the ballot papers for Dedza Central Constituency by-election.

The paper arrived the through Kamuzu International Airport.

Different political party representatives witnessed the arrival and dispatching of the ballot papers to the constituency nerve centre at Mthandiza TDC in Dedza.

The by- elections comes following the death of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) member of parliament Daniel Chiwere in July this year

Three candidates will contest in the by-election, Willard Alfred Gwengwe representing MCP, Jacob Joseph Kaumphawi independent candidate and Andrew Ndekha Mtunga Kowedza representing the Democratic progressive party (DPP).

The polls in Dedza Central Constituency are scheduled for 16 November 2023.
