The Central Region Pool League (CRPL) has secured K5million co-sponsorship deal from Members Club Management of Lumbadzi and PJ Bites Restaurant.

This was revealed during the launch of this year’s competetion on Saturday in Lilongwe.

CRPL chairperson Kennedy Kalilombe expressed his excitement for the deal saying it will help to develop the sport.

“We are really proud as region to receive such kind of sponsorship and moving forward we want to come together and at least give back to the sponsors you know we have been entrusted with this large amount so as affiliates for CRPL we want to work together and express all the disciple issues so that we can move forward and help each other develop this sport” said Kalilombe

He added that the coming in of the sponsors to the CRPL is demonstrating the people have on the current leadership.

On his part, Manager for Members Club Management Peter Ng’ambi said they have decided to invest in pool due to their interest for the sport.

“As part of Members Club, pool has always been our favorite sport within bar premises, since way back we’ve been operating pool tables within our premises and the turn up was very promising that what really pushed us to start investing in it” said Ng’ambi

Meanwhile, Malawi Pool Association vice president Hastings Mpesi advised the CRPL to exercise fair play to avoid disappointing sponsors.

20 teams have registered for 2022/23 season slatted for the 1st October kick-off.

After the completion of the League, the Champion will get K1.3 million plus trophy while the runner up will receive K1million. Third and fourth placed teams will get K700,000 and K500,000 respectively whereas teams from fifth to 10th will way away with K50,000 consolation prizes.
