The Central Region Football Association (CRFA) has admitted that it will not tolerate any sorts of match fixing in the 2024 season ahead.
The match fixing issues took a centre stage towards the end of 2023 season where some Chipiku Premier Division teams and officials were involved, the development that delayed the completion of the League.
But speaking at the CRFA Annual General Meeting today, Manda said his association has set aside some measures that will help to end the malpractice.
“We don’t want match fixing issues to come again, so effective this season any culprit of this will be expelled from the League”
“We have also noted that some officials of these teams are not familiar will the rules and regulations of our Leagues so before the league starts each team will be given a copy of rules and regulations for them to read and after that they’ll be asked to make a commitment by signing an agreement that they will be punished if they don’t adhere to the rules” said Manda
Apart from issues of match fixing, some teams proposed that CRFA should engage FAM so that it’s games should be played as curtain raisers for elite games to avoid using inconducive venues.
In response, Manda said: “It’s a very welcome proposal, we need to consult our colleagues from SULOM first and possibly because we’ve had issues in the past where Super League teams could not allow our teams to play before them due to Juju believes”
Furthermore, Manda advised District Football Committee’s to open their offices which it’s rentals will be paid by CRFA to makesure that the game is transformed from the lower level.
