Civil Service United have confirmed the arrival of goalkeepers Blessings Juma and Rahaman John from Extreme FC and Bangwe All Stars respectively.

As reported by the Clubs official Facebook page, the two have joined the servants on free transfers.

“We are pleased to report that we have signed the two exciting goalkeepers as hinted ahead of the coming season”, says Edgar Chipalanjira the General Secretary.

The duo becomes Abasi Makawa’s first signings ahead of the 2024 season.

Juma was a marvel to watch for the relegated Extreme FC in the 2023 season.

Silver Strikers looked primed to hijack a deal, but the Servants have won the race to sign the youngster.

On the other hand, Rahaman John also helped Bangwe All Stars to finish sixth in Super League in their maiden season.

John was loaned out to Bangwe from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and he played a big part in Bangwe’s successes.

Meanwhile, Chipalanjira has revealed that the Servants will sign six new players to the club.

“We shall soon unveil two defenders, two midfielders and two forwards as we are steadily implementing our technical plan”

“We are surely on course to build a strong and resilient squad that will fight for honours this year. We promise our fans and followers, supporters and sponsors their best season in the new millennium”

The Servants are rumored be keen on bringing back Righteous Banda who left the club and joined Bullets in 2018. Other players linked with Civil Service United are midfielder Grievin Ng’anjo and striker Beston Jimu, both from Extreme FC.

Civil Service United struggled alot for the better part of 2023 season where they stayed in the bottom five but they were rejuvenated with the arrival of Abasi Makawa as head coach towards season end who guided the team into 8th place finish.

The last time Civil Service United won major title was in 2015 when they defeated Mighty Mukuru Wanderers 1-0 in the Standard Bank Cup final.
