The race between Silver Strikers Reserve, St Gabriel Medicals Zitha and Kawinga FC in CRFA Chipiku League is becoming more intense as the trio opened their second round of 12 teams campaign with victories on Wednesday.
Top of the table side, Silver Reserve had a difficult task to face Airborne Rangers away at Fikiza where they won 2-1.
Lonjezo Patulani registered his brace to send his team up to 31 points while Airborne Rangers who dropped from fourth to fifth with 20 point got their goal through Chifundo Molosoni.
The Young Bankers are not yet at peace as second placed St Gabriel Medicals Zitha also won their home game against Villa FC at Mbabzi Ground.
A goal each from Mathews Hamuza, Maxwell Mangwere and Thomas Manyowa were enough for Namitete side to claim a 3-0 win.
The win means Zitha are still four points behind leaders Silver Strikers Reserve with 27 points from 12 games. Their opponents Villa FC lays on seventh with 15 points.
And at Chilowa Ground, third placed Kawinga FC have defeated Kamuzu Barracks Reserve 2-0.
Kawinga have 25 points now while their opponents Kamuzu Barracks Reserve have dropped down to 12th with just six points from 12 games.
The second round started on Sunday with three games as Mbabzi United beat Luanar FC 2-1 to climb fourth with 21 points while Luanar FC are eighth after accumulating 13 points.
In another match on Sunday, Leyman Panthers also recorded a 2-1 win over Mangoni Warriors, the victory that lifted them from 10th to ninth with nine points now and they dislodged Mangoni Warriors who dropped to 10th with seven points.
The only draw in week 15 was recorded in a game between Ngolowindo FC and Support Battalion who played out a goalless draw.
With 20 points Support Battalion sits 20th on standings while Ngolowindo moved from bottom to 11th with their seven points.
