Vice President Saulos Chilima has applauded Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Nkhoma Synod’s Reverend Bizwick Nkhoma for his commitment in serving the Lord as a reverend for 20 years.
Speaking during Nkhoma’s 20th anniversary celebration at Kaning’a CCAP in Lilongwe, Chilima said it was pleasing to witness the reverend celebrating 20 years in God’s service.
“Continue serving God and people as you have been doing in your 20 years of service as a reverend,” Chilima told Nkhoma.
He also advised other reverends to emulate Nkhoma’s example if they are to achieve a milestone in their work as ministers.
In his remarks, Nkhoma said he has passed through a lot to accomplish his 20-year journey as a reverend.
“The journey has been good and sometimes there have been challenges; you know the ministry. Christ has told us to carry our own cross, so it is not easy to follow Christ as there are so many huddles along the way.
“But Christ has been good; his grace has been very sufficient, as he has helped us up to this far. That is why we are saying: Ebenezer, the Lord has helped us,” said Nkhoma.
He further advised the youths who are into God’s ministry to, among other things, continue learning if they are to accomplish the work of God in their ministry.
“I encourage the youths in the ministry to continue learning. Sometimes in the ministry, once we start and things are going on well, we think that we have graduated but our ministry is ministry of learning; always be humble and always keep your eye on the ground to see what the Lord is saying,” Nkhoma advised.
Reverend Nkhoma started his journey as a reverend in 2003.
