Bushiri praises Mutharika’s SONA

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has praised President Peter Mutharika for his first State of the Nation Address (Sona) since returning to power.

Writing on his Facebook page,Bushiri described the Sona as strong and well-articulated, highlighting the President’s focus on economic recovery, food security, governance, and national development.

“For such great plans to succeed, consistent implementation, transparency, and inclusive leadership will be key,” Bushiri said.

“When vision is matched with action, the nation truly moves forward.”

Bushiri has also congratulated the president for demonstrating patriotism and commitment to Malawi’s progress.

Bushiri’s praise comes hours after Mutharika’s 45-minute address at Parliament, in which he outlined measures to stabilise the economy, empower youth and women, strengthen public services, and expand energy and health infrastructure.

Reactibg to his post,Happy Ndau said it was interesting to see influential faith leaders like Bushiri find enjoying the leadership.

He said the remarks have the potential to shape public perception, particularly in Malawi, where religious voices play a central role in society
