FCB Nyasa Big Bullets sealed their place in the final of the FDH Bank Cup on Sunday following their 5-1 win over Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium.

The defending champions produced a sublime performance to reach the final for the second successive year.

Kalisto Pasuwa’s men went into the break with a 1-0 lead thanks to Collins Odhiambo Okumu’s second minute strike.

The Kenyan centre back headed home a well taken freekick from Patrick Mwaungulu to register his first ever goal as a Bullets player.

From this point on, the People’s Team really looking dangerous and they had several attempts on goal but Dedza Dynamos had goalkeeper Donnex Mwakasinga to thank after producing a string of saves to deny Bullets second goal.

In the second half, Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar moved up a gear after making some changes at the break.

Gilbert Chirwa decided to introduce Gift Magola, Victor Lungu and Frankly Aoudou for Promise kamwendo, Christopher Phiri and Lameck Gamphani, the changes that helped them march Bullets play but their penetration into the final third remained a big challenge.

However, despite ceasing fire at the beginning of second half, the hosts struck second goal through Hassan Kajoke on 65th minute.

The FDH Bank Cup leading top scorer finished off a pass from Gomezgani Chirwa who made a terrific run down the right before swinging across for Kajoke to score.

Three minutes later Antony Mfune made it 3-0. Mwakasinga first denied Kajoke with a spectacular full-stretch save but Mfune was there to slot home from rebound.

Bullets were punishing Dedza now and as the clock ticked around 73 minutes, they put the tie well and truly beyond doubt, Mfune finishing sweetly from Mwaungulu’s outrageous assist in another rapid offensive transition to complete his brace.

Dedza Dynamos pulled one back on 86th minute through Gift Magola who robed the ball from Okumu’s feet before sending a powerful shot to deny Rabson Chienda a cleanshit.

Just as it seemed the game would end 4-1, it was substitute MacFarlane Mgwira’s volleyed ball that sealed a 5-1 victory for Bullets.

Mgwira capitalized from Mwakasinga’s misplaced pass to register his goal with a minute to go.

“A very good game to our boys, in the first half we struggled to get goals but in the second half we relied on individual brilliance to score goals” said Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa after the match.

He added “Today we tried to rotate the team, we had new players in the starting eleven and we saw change of pace again when we brought in some of these boys from the bench we could see the intensity”

On meeting MAFCO in the final Pasuwa said “In the final we are meeting a good side [MAFCO] which gives us also a torrid time so we need to do our home work in order for us to defend it”

On his part Dedza Dynamos coach Gilbert Chirwa said he was let down by his midfield and defense.

“We lost concentration and we conceded goals in a space of 10 minutes we had problems in Midfield and defense but we accept and we just need to go back to the drawing board and start over again and see way forward” said Chirwa

In the final, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face MAFCO FC who cruised into final last week following their 1-0 win over Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
