Bishop Chimwemwe Chafumuka has committed to start providing K5 million to Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC for players welfare.
Bishop Chafumuka who is the founder ofAmazing Grace Christian Gathering Church, said the team will be getting K500,000 monthly for the next 10 months.
In an interview confirming the development, Bishop Chafumuka said he thought it wise to assist the team after being approached by one of DDSS FC officials, Gerald Kampanikiza.
“Gerald kampanika told me about the DDSS FC and the support they look for. I thought it wise to assist the them in order to empower the upcoming teams and make sure they meet their needs,” he said.
Being his first to support a top flight league team, Bishop Chafumuka said soccer lovers should expect more.
“Yes my first to support and people should expect more. All I was is to bring unity to all people with men of God and putting them closer to God
Among others, the money will be used to motivate players with an introduction to a player of the month award which will see the winner walking away with K100,000 until the end of the season to the delight of the team’s Manager Elijah Amon Ngondo.
“We’re very grateful for this gesture and surely it’s a big motivation to the whole team,” Ngondo said.
He added that, they have been trying hard to start the player of the month award but they had no capacity to do it so the coming in of Bishop C. Chafumuka has answered their prayers.
“With God, there’s always an appointed time for things, and when you put Him first, trust in His timing, and keep the faith, miracles happen,” said Ngondo as quoted on Kampanikiza’s official Facebook page.
With the new development, fans will start voting for the player of the month and the other money will cover for players game bonuses.
The Man of God has also congratulated the current TNM Super league leading top goal scorer Clement Nyondo, with a special package for finishing top of the list in the first round.
Dedza Dynamos Salima Sugar FC, who are playing in their second season in the elite league, are into the semi-finals of the FDH Bank Cup and they will travel to Blantyre to face the reigning champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and they finished 8th at the end of the first round in the 2023 TNM Super league season.
Meanwhile, Bishop C. Chafumuka said he will welcome the team in Blantyre with a special dinner at his house in Namiwawa before facing Bullets.
