Eight games were played in week 19 of CRFA Chipiku Premier Division League where only a single draw was registered as Carotyte Salima and Wimbe United played out to a 1-1 draw.

The results of all eight games this weekend have changed the complexion of the standings, so we take a look at three major talking points from the week 19.

With 13 games played so far in the second round of preliminary phase, all top teams are uncatchable at the summit of their groups.

In Group B, Mangoni Warriors beat Mchinji Boma Strikers 2-0 but they only managed to reduce the gap with leaders Silver Strikers Reserve to six points.

With a game to go in this round, Mangoni Warriors will not manage to catch Silver Strikers Reserve whose top spot finish was confirmed last week when they defeated Santhe Admarc (1-0).

Another team whose top finish was declared is Kawinga FC which is currently enjoying a stellar performance in Group C.

The Area 22 outfit beat Simbi FC 2-0 on Sunday to open a nine points gap as they accumulated 31 points against 22 of second placed Villa FC.

And in group A, topping the table and having already finished their job in this round is Support Battalion who have amassed 30 points while second placed Mbabzi United have 27 points.

Mbabzi beat St Gabriel Medicals Zitha 1-0 on Saturday while Support Battalion beat Leyman Panthers 2-0 on Sunday.

Santhe Admarc were the highest scorers in week 18 when they beat Mkanda Youth 4-0 courtesy of Christopher Chili, Blessings Chilembwe, Precious Mbesa and Abyute Maida goals.

The victory saw Santhe Admarc moving a step up from the last position to second from the bottom in Group B, thereby occupying Mkanda’s position.

Dwangwa United remains bottom of Group A despite their 2-0 win over fifth placed Dedza Young Soccer on Saturday.

Kamuzu Barracks Reserve squandered a chance to move third of group B standings following their 1-0 loss to fifth placed Kamba FC.

KB reserve remains fourth with 18 points from 12 games.
